How asks, answers & experts work on Gaana.

Network is net worth — and it takes a village. Gaana connects people making big moves with experts who’ve already made them. These guidelines keep the village honest, useful, and trustworthy on both sides of every conversation.

For askers

Ask in good faith

  • One clear question. Use your 60 seconds on a single, specific question. Experts can’t answer ten things at once.
  • Give context. Add a short caption when needed (your country, role, situation) so the expert can tailor the reply.
  • Be respectful. No hateful, harassing, threatening, or sexually-explicit content. Civility is required.
  • No personal data of others. Don’t share third parties’ private information in your question.

Tokens & charges

  • Gaana is free during launch. Every question is free, and you earn reward tokens for signing up, checking in daily, asking, and answering.
  • Earned tokens never expire and stay on your balance when paid questions go live.
  • When the token economy launches, you’re only ever charged when an expert records an answer.

For experts

Be the expert you said you were

  • Stay within your stated categories. Don’t advise on topics outside your expertise.
  • Respond within your stated window. 24/48/72h. If you can’t, decline politely — no tokens are charged.
  • Disclose conflicts. If you have a financial interest in your recommendation, say so on the recording.

Quality of answers

  • Specific over generic. Address the asker’s actual question; don’t broadcast.
  • Professional, respectful tone — even when you disagree.
  • Stay legal and ethical. No medical diagnoses, legal opinions, or financial recommendations beyond what your credentials authorise.

Prohibited content

The following is strictly prohibited — on either side of a connection:

  • Hate, harassment, threats.
  • Sexually-explicit material in questions or answers.
  • Illegal activity — soliciting it, planning it, or advising on how to commit it.
  • Impersonation — misrepresenting your identity, credentials, or affiliations.
  • Platform circumvention — pushing askers off-platform to bypass tokens.
  • Doxxing — sharing private information about another person without consent.

Enforcement

Moderation reviews reported connections and takes action by severity:

Minor
Warning + reminder
e.g. low-quality answer, missing caption context
Moderate
Connection reversed + warning
e.g. answering outside stated expertise, dismissive tone
Severe
Suspension or ban
e.g. hate speech, harassment, fraud, repeated violations

Reporting violations

  • Contact moderation via your account settings.
  • Provide the connection ID, what happened, and what you’d like reviewed.
  • False or malicious reports may themselves be a violation.

Your rights & privacy

  • Private connections. 1:1 ask & answer threads are visible only to the asker and the expert.
  • Data privacy. We don’t sell your personal information to third parties.
  • Account control. Pause accepting questions, edit your profile, or close your account at any time.
  • Appeals. Moderation decisions can be appealed via support.

These guidelines evolve with the platform. Material changes will be announced. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
